Every year, the United Nations Environment Program picks charismatic leaders in their field whose actions have a transformative impact on the environment: the Champions of the Earth. This award is UN's highest environmental honor. This year, Fabian is the laureate in the Science and Innovation category.
This prestigious award recognizes Fabian's ceaseless efforts and leadership towards promoting and implementing One Health approaches. Fabian's activities and projects have covered an impressively broad scale, from the discovery of rainforest killer bugs to investigations into the origins of major human pathogens, to the implementation of large-scale disease surveillance programs in wildlife and humans - always animated by the ambition to better understand the intricate nature of human, animal and environmental health.
The entire team is extremely proud of this new achievement and of this well-deserved global recognition!
